Northeast Park

Northeast Park Neighborhood Association

dbishop@northeastparkfla.com

Northeast Park is the ideal neighborhood for young families and active adults looking for a safe, centrally located community near downtown St. Petersburg.

Northeast Park was first developed by the well-known local developers Frank Crisp and George Davis. The land was purchased in a back-taxes sale following the Great Depression with the intention of building a coastal winter retreat for residents of the northern United States. Northeast Park has since evolved to become a destination for diverse young families and active adults within a scenic bike ride’s distance to downtown St. Petersburg.

Among the many attributes of Northeast Park, perhaps the most defining are the Northeast Little League baseball and softball fields, and the two waterfront parks and playgrounds (Crisp Park and the Northeast Exchange Club Coffee Pot Park) that feature open areas and boat ramp access to Smacks Bayou, Coffee Pot Bayou, and Tampa Bay. These fields and parks are surrounded by livable, pedestrian-friendly streets, independent local businesses, and award winning restaurants.

But our greatest assets are our neighbors and families working together to make Northeast Park a wonderful place to call home. We are One Interactive Community.

The Harbor Isle Neighborhood consists of 218 single family homes and is located in northeast St. Petersburg between Mangrove Bay Golf Course and Weedon Island. This waterfront community has a large interior lake and is bordered to the north and east by Bayou Grande. These waterways are perfect for boating, canoeing, fishing, etc.

Architecture

Harbor Isle Subdivision was platted in the 1970s. Many of the homes were built by Rutenburg, Sibley and Bruce/Williams. Prior to this development, the land was connected to Weedon Island via a bridge which was used as a thorough fare between St. Petersburg and the Gandy area.

Organization / Programs

The Harbor Isle Homeowner’s Association was organized in 1979. The board meets the first Thursday of each month with two general member meetings per year. As in other neighborhoods, the board is concerned about crime and safety in our community.
